The event, sponsored by VFW Post 10818 and The Centre is intended to raise public awareness and financial support for local veterans.  The Veteran of Foreign Wars (VFW) is  tax-exempt organization under section 501 c(19).
 

Location:  Both events will start and finish at the Community Commons (former Middle School), 421 South Green Avenue, New Richmond

Entry Fee:  10 mile pre-registration fee $25 ~ Race day registration $35; 5K run/walk pre-registration $20 ~ race day $30; Online registration at www.active.com pre-registration must be received by May 20th

Times:  Race day registration begins at 6:30 am.  The 10-mile runs begins at 7:45 am; 5K run/walk at 8 am.  An awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of each race.  Both races will be chip timed with results available  www.andersonraces.com 

Courses:   The 10-Mile Run  will be on city streets and black-topped country roads.  The course includes numerous rolling hills with the final two miles downhill with a flat finish.  The course will not be closed to traffic so runners will have to stay on the left side of the road throughout the course.  At least two aid stations will be on the course with water and energy drinks.
The 5K will be on city streets and paved bike paths.  There is only one modest hill at approximately 2 miles.  The course will not be closed to traffic and no aid station is planned for the course.

Awards:  Trophies to overall male and female winners in the 10 mile and 5K run.  Age group awards in 10 mile & 5K run.  High quality tec t-shirts to all pre-registered runners and as the supply lasts for race day registered runners.  Shirts will be mailed to those not receiving a shirt on race day.  Door prizes awarded throughout the morning.

Parking: Municipal lots two blocks from the Commons and city streets.
